About me.

Nature has always made sense to me. It’s extremely simple and complex at the same time. Natural systems are all about cooperation, diversity, and interdependency. The most accessible thing for me, was the garden in the house I grew up in. There was a small space where I was allowed to do anything I wanted–I took seeds from my mom and grandmother and used a garden tool set to plant them freely around the open space. The seeds have since then taken over our neighbor, Ms. Minnie’s, backyard. Planting seeds didn’t require a ton of resources, either. My friend Ryan would also come over and flip up logs to see what lurked underneath them. From there, my love for nature grew as did my particular interest in birds. They are super in tune with their home, exploring, and constantly aware of their environment. When I’m just exploring, I find my own innate ability to connect with natural systems even more.

Today, I try to help people understand the sites they reside on by finding ways to help them develop a way of living without disturbing the natural systems already in place. By noticing and reading nature’s signs, I can begin to apply those observations to a custom and sustainable approach. I want to guide people to understand their relationship to the land–that means I may start and restart a project, pivot when need be, and collaborate with other businesses and people who offer so much more to this hands-on, and essentially, educational process. I don’t like to get stuck in a cycle of analysis paralysis, or overthink a project, rather empower people to see different ways of self-sustainability with the resources right in front of them.
